The National Association of Realtors reported on Feb 22, 2012 that Sales of existing
homes and condos rose 4.3% in January, 2012 vs. December, 2011 and .7% vs. January, 2011.
For Westport, sales in January, 2012 was 12.5% greater than December, 2011 and 50% greater than January, 2011.
For surrounding towns, sales in January, 2012 was 40% less than December, 2011 and 23% less than January, 2011.
And, NAR reported that inventory of properties for sale in January was 6.1 months of sale down from 6.4 months in December.
For Westport, inventory of properties for sale in January, 2012 was 9 months of inventory up from 8 months in December, 2011.
For surrounding towns, inventory of properties for sale in January, 2012 was 10 months of inventory up from 9 months in December, 2011.
