Westport and surrounding towns Real Estate Market Trends from Steve Reilly

Westport Median Selling Price

The Median Selling Price started increasing in 2012 and continued improving in early January, 2013. It

will be interesting to see if the trend continues when we know all sales for January and as the year unfolds.

My guess is that the upward trend will continue but not at the accelerated rate we saw in early January.

Westport Property Sales - started increasing in 2009 and continued in 2012..

Average days on Market increased in 2012 with trend

Down. I think the trend is more important indicator.

Months of Inventory declined big time in 2012. There is currently 7 months of inventory when the peak was 19 in 2008.

Towns surrounding Westport (Easton, Fairfield, Norwalk, Redding, Ridgefield, Weston and Wilton).

Median Selling Price - The median selling price has not improved in these towns.

Properties Sold increased in 2012.

Average Days on Market - has been declining since 2010.

Months of Inventory - has been declining since 2008. This is good for sellers and bad for buyers.
