local real estate market performance

On 7/22/15 Wall Street Journal reported that median sales price of existing homes sold in June, 2015 reached an all-time high and was 6.5% greater than June 2014. In June, 2015 the median sales price of existing homes sold was $236,400 and previous high was $230,400 in July, 2006.

So, I decided to see this compares with the local market. 

For Westport, the median sales price was $1,605,000 or 31.8% greater than June 2014 and close to the previous all-time high of $1,680,000 in April, 2008.

For towns around Westport, the median sales price was $567,000 or 6.5% less than June, 2014 and 14% less than the all-time high of $658,000 in July, 2007
